How can public authorities work together with the private sector to support their sustainable and smart transition initiatives? In these 2 new learning videos dedicated to Smart Governance, explore the possibilities of public-private collaborations and partnerships.

The aim of these 2 new videos is to provide new sources of information and support for cities and municipalities in setting up a collaborative dynamic with the private sector as part of their sustainable and smart transition initiatives. These 2 videos reinforce the tools dedicated to Smart Governance already developed by the Smart City Institute, in its role as Smart Region academic referent for Wallonia, notably: Smart City Practical handbook #6 dedicated to public-private collaborations and partnerships, the notebook "Ecosystem dynamics: a stepping stone for your Smart City initiatives", and the Smart City Practical Handbook #2 dedicated to citizen participation.

After a short introduction on the differences between public-private collaborations and partnerships, this 1st capsule looks more specifically at public-private collaborations: the 3 main forms they can take, their advantages for public authorities and the role the latter can play in these collaborations.

This second capsule looks at the different types of partnerships that public authorities can establish with the private sector: in practice, what forms do these partnerships take, and what roles do each of the parties play? It also looks at the legal basis for such partnerships in Wallonia.
